From Mary's perspective, the account of Simeon prophesying over Jesus in the temple is a profound moment of revelation. Simeon, a righteous and devout man, takes her infant son in his arms and prophesies, “...my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.” How might Mary have prepared her son for his mission?

This painting was created using multiple layers of materials, including acrylic paint in rich greens, golds, and reds, pen, torn pages of music and scripture, gold pen, and gold leaf.
